Describing the incident as potentially deliberate, Russell believes Verstappen was attempting to assert dominance rather than cause a crash. Verstappen’s 10-second penalty in Spain puts him at risk of a race ban pending his behavior in upcoming races. Russell light-heartedly suggested that Verstappen might intentionally earn a penalty point for a weekend off at home.
